The steel industry is the main source of industrial air pollutants, with complex production processes and a large number of pollution sources. The sintering machine head flue gas pollutant emissions account for a large proportion, particulate matter, SO₂, NOx emissions 40%,70%, more than 50%. Since 2019, China has comprehensively promoted ultra-low emissions in the steel industry.
In 2018, our company undertook the Meide Gengchen project in Shandong. In 2020, we took on the Meide Weihai project, addressing processes such as sintering and pioneering a slag water desulfurization system to achieve wastewater resource utilization. Starting from 2021, we collaborated with Zhongtian Steel to complete the denitrification of Nantong Zhongtian lime kilns, dust removal in the sintering area of Changzhou Zhongtian, and flue gas desulfurization for the hot blast stoves at the ironmaking plant.
We explored the source treatment and carried out a pilot test of high furnace gas refined desulfurization in collaboration with Beijing University of Science and Technology. After 256 days of continuous operation, the whole dry method treatment scheme of "dry method impurity removal + carbonyl sulfur hydrolysis + hydrogen sulfide adsorption" was feasible, and we are promoting industrial application by relying on the national project we undertook.
